Cruel mum, 26, weeps as she is found guilty of trying to murder her newborn by leaving her in a DUMPSTER.

Shelby Taylor, from South Carolina, hid her pregnancy from her husband and secretly gave birth to the child in the dead of night.

Her legal team claim she was suffering from “transient perinatal psychosis”, a severe form of postpartum depression which often results in “baby dumping”

Taylor, then aged 23, gave birth to the child in the early hours of April 9, 2015, while her husband Patrick and 15-month-old daughter slept, Myrtle Beach Online reports.

The troubled mother then put her newborn daughter in a bin bag which she then left in a dumpster outside.

The newborn, now named Trinity Grace, was found by two boys covered in food waste, and with her umbilical chord reportedly wrapped around her neck, after they thought they heard a kitten crying.

The child is now in the care of her grandparents, reports WDPE.

Taylor, who was found guilty yesterday, claims her husband is abusing and controlling while insisting the couple were not financially able to care for a second child.

However, in April 2015, she had claimed Patrick was a “good husband.”

Taylor turned herself into police on the same day she dumped the baby after she saw a CCTV photo of herself on TV, reports WWLP-22 News.

Investigators also found a receipt in the bin bag which they tracked to a store whose surveillance footage showed Taylor shopping in.

One of the lads who saved the baby, Raymond Price, who was aged 13 at the time, told the court he “found the bag with the baby’s face pressed up against the bag.”

Trinity, whose nickname is Baby Hope, was then rushed to hospital to Horry County Fire Rescue paramedic Captain Keith Drabick

The child’s grandmother Cheri Taylor, who is now caring for her, said: “We just thank God for the boys that found her.

“Without them, we never would have known about her. We didn’t know her mother was pregnant. She denied it the whole time.”
