Karen Nisbet, a freelance graphic designer, has dodged the Auckland housing crisis by living in a caravan for two years after giving up on the idea of owning a house.

“I did some research and realised that it wasn’t going to happen for me.”

A keen traveller with a classic case of ‘itchy feet’, Nisbet went on a road trip to the South Island to look at buying a caravan after seeing some videos about caravan living on Youtube.
